New Beginnings Pregnancy Care Center: May 21, 2019

The last six weeks brought lots of blessings to New Beginnings; a purchase was finalized for a new building; plans were drawn up to remodel and many volunteers pitched in to get the work done. Because of these generous volunteers we will be able to begin moving from our current location sometime next week. We were also able to keep our regular center hours throughout April and most of May. Watch for information this summer about an Open house for our new building and information on our updated website that will be launching soon. If you are interested in assisting us in paying down the mortgage, please mark your donation as Building Fund. We will be opening to clients in our new location (605 NW 5thStreet, Grand Rapids) on June 3rd. Mailing address is P.O. Box 213, Grand Rapids.

New Beginnings annual Baby Bottle drive is underway now until Father’s Day June 16th, which enables us to offer all of our services for free. The financial donations from these bottles really does make a big difference in our community. Filled bottles can be dropped off at your church or New Beginnings at your earliest convenience. Thank you so much for helping us in saving lives!!!

New Beginnings has started a Baby Registry on for some of our clients and new Center needs/wishes. If you can help, go to and look up… New Beginnings Pregnancy Care Center, Grand Rapids, Mn under Baby Registry. Thank you for all you do!!!

The staff and volunteers at New Beginnings were able to work with 22 clients and their families in April. We worked with clients to provide 74 services, including 20 Earn While You Learn classes, 14 Boutique visits and four ultrasounds.

We are able to touch so many lives and continue to grow because of the generosity of everyone who prays and gives of their resources and talents. We are grateful for all we can do because of the support of all of you. Thank You!

All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God.

Dimes for Missions Sunday

Dimes for Missions Sunday is the second Sunday of every month. Money received is designated to be split between Lutheran Heritage Foundation and Lutheran Island Camp. We receive an average of $500 annually.

Local Missions

The Board of Missions budgets for local missions, needs in our own church or community, and short-term missions, needs other than local. For local missions, we have supported “Mainstreet Living” on KBJR TV Channel 6 out of Duluth. Pastor Ziege has been one of the pastors on the service at 10:00 a.m. We have also contributed in the past to “Hunger No More”, a meal packaging event supported by the Board of Human Care. For short-term missions we are supporting Brooke Thorson’s ministry in El Salvador and in the past a missionary trip to Alaska and Pastor Bernie Lutz’s missionary work in South Sudan. The board also donates $150 annually to ICTV to support tv broadcasts.

Currently our board has only two members. We would welcome anyone who wishes to help in this ministry, even if it is for a short- term project and not a 3-year term commitment. Please talk with Mary Buech or Carla Taylor for more information about our board.
